FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
So, what are you offering?
Well, firstly, I’m cheap and easy. Oops, did I really say that?
What I mean is: I work for reasonable rates, and I’m pretty painless to deal with. You don’t need a UNIX glossary to speak with me – you just have to know what you want.
What else? I’m flexible!
TechDonkey.Com does:
a) everything website-related
b) writing of content
c) in-print stuff like business cards, posters and promotional materials, as well as publications like flyers and magazines.
d) graphic/image manipulation
e) tutorials on computery things
f) the ubiquituous “and more”
I don’t have a website. Can you make it happen?
Yes. I can register it, build it, host it, and do the upkeep. Damn, that was easy.
Why do you like working with “small potatoes”? I’ve always been of the opinion that large business can get awfully small-minded. I’m old-fashioned; I take my car to a local garage where they know my name; I shop at a bookstores that aren’t chain-owned. I’d rather support small business than the Fortune 500 and the side benefit of excellent, personalized service ain’t bad either. I bring that set of beliefs to all my business dealings. I’m a real person, not a faceless conglomerate, and I care about my customers.
Censorship?
Hate speech is not acceptable to me - if you are using your webspace to promote hatred, bigotry, or intolerance, I’ll pull your plug in a hot second.
Pornography?
Much as we respect the art form, our upstream linkage providers don’t allow out and out pornography, and we’re not set up for the huge drain on resources posed by a popular site with lots of pics. We are most sorry, and may we recommend ….(still researching this)…
Spam?
To put our message to spammers as politely as we can: “As much as you may feel that the universe needs your patented penis enlarger, your pyramid scheme, or your ten-pounds-an-hour weight-loss program, if we find out you’ve been spamming, I’ll terminate you with extreme prejudice. You’re a polluter of the worst sort.” - Elaine Miller, Techdonkey.com
