Opening the Case: Hardware Fixes, Parts & Batteries

Computers and phones are full of parts that wear out or get used up. And sometimes the specs your computer shipped with aren’t quite enough to get the job done! Your computer can be much improved, often fairly easily.

Sometimes it’s as simple as replacing the battery so your laptop isn’t tethered to your wall. Sometimes your hard drive has become overstuffed, and there’s no room to run programs. A new higher-capacity drive will give your laptop room to play in, and reset the ticking clock that is HHD / SSD wear and tear. If your computer struggles with opening several applications at once, additional RAM may restore your smooth, fast workflow.

I am experienced with hardware sourcing and swapping, I possess all the tools, picks, spudgers, lights and magnifiers, and I can find the new part and get it into your device.

Hardware repair is on a case-by-case basis. (No pun intended). Tell me what device you’ve got, and what the issue is, and I’ll let you know if I’m capable of doing the fix, or if you need to spring for a repair shop.

(PC desktops and laptops, mostly always I’m a yes-can-do. Phones are a maybe. Apple computers… mostly no, except batteries. )
