“My computer beat me at chess, but I did better at kickboxing.”
For select Vancouver residents, I can have a chat with your Windows operating system (desktop or laptop) and/or your hardware and compel the whole dang machine to behave better.
My own Blue Screen of Death, from around 2010 or so. Included here for BSOD nostalgia.
Many of us have the experience of dealing with a computer that’s… a bit more interested in doing its own thing very slowly than in booting up properly and performing our important tasks.
Software interventions might be virus and malware scans, operating system re-installs, space-making file clear-outs and de-duplication, speed-ups, scraping out bloatware (unnecessary programs you didn’t ask for) , upgrades, and so forth. If the slowdown or hiccups are not caused by software or settings …. we progress to hardware.
When it’s a hardware issue, I can do some hardware replacements and upgrades, such as adding more RAM, or a fresh, larger capacity hard drive or SSD. I can also replace your battery, if a lack of power is making your offsite work time rather hurried. (more on Techdonkey hardware replacements and upgrades)
